REM Ohio, Time Warner hiring in southwest Ohio

Dec. 03--REM -- Ohio, which provides services to adults with developmental disabilities, is looking to hire immediately.

REM Ohio is part of The MENTOR Network, a national network of local health and human services providers in 35 states offering an array of quality, community-based services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain and spinal cord injuries and other catastrophic injuries and illnesses, and to youth with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges, as well as their families; and to elders in need of support.

Founded in 1980, the network has made helped thousands of children and adults across the country, according to office coordinator Christena Moore.

"We create innovative programs and implement systems, from our national quality assurance program to our outcomes measurement tools, that enable us to deliver quality services and supports to the people we serve," Moore said.

Founded in 1987, REM Ohio offers an array of services and support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, job seekers facing employment challenges, and individuals with other complex needs.

There are approximately 2,000 employees of the network in Ohio. Pay for each direct care position starts at $10 an hour.

Also hiring is Time Warner Cable, which is seeking 24 employees for its Jan. 6 class and 20 employees for its Feb. 3 class. Moving forward monthly, each month will see between 20 and 24 people hired, all of them to full-time permanent positions.

The company will hire between noon and 4 p.m. Thursday at OhioMeansJobs-Butler County, 4691 Dixie Highway, and again on Dec. 13 at 11325 Reed Hartman Hwy Suite 110, Blue Ash, during an on-site open interview session.

"They will meet directly with hiring supervisors and could get an offer before they leave," said Time Warner Cable recruiter Heath Brothers.

"We can't move forward with an offer until that is passed," Brothers said.

Time Warner Cable is looking for individuals who are customer focused and "someone who takes pride in providing a quick and easy resolution for the customer using the knowledge that we provide in training," he said.

"We need someone who can think on their feet and is independent, someone who can find the information they need by using the resources provided," Brothers said. "We need someone who wants to stay with the company long term and is looking for a career, someone who is reliable, hard-working and would thrive in a performance-based system."
