'MUSIC THERAPY AND DEMENTIA' AT BRIDGES BY EPOCH AT PEMBROKE

PEMBROKE - Bridges by EPOCH at Pembroke will host the complimentary presentation "Music Therapy and Dementia" at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 8.

Learn about the power music has for people living with dementia and how to incorporate music into a daily routine, during this presentation led by Alicia Seaver, certified memory impairment specialist and director of memory care at Bridges by EPOCH.

Bridges by EPOCH at Pembroke is a memory care assisted living community that will open in the fall at 49 Cross St. in Pembroke. All events are currently hosted at the open Welcome Center at 146 Church St.

SUMMER THEATER PROGRAM SET FOR THURSDAY IN HALIFAX

HALIFAX - On Stage, a summer theatre program for area youth, will present its production, "The Mysterious Island," at 10:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Halifax Congregational Church, 503 Plymouth St.

The play follows the adventures of five school children who were on a field trip visiting the local scientist, Dr. Science, who shows them his new transporter invention.

Something goes wrong and instead of being transported to the other side of the lab, they end up on the mysterious island. The show will also include skits developed by the On Stage campers.

Admission is free, open to the public, and appropriate for children and adults of all ages.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES SATURDAY IN MIDDLEBORO

MIDDLEBORO - The Soule Homestead Summer Concert Series, 46 Soule St., continues at 6 p.m. on Saturday with folk duo Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards and traditional folk artist Carl Cacho.

Mandeville and Richards play a variety of classic folk instruments, including guitar, harmonica and penny whistle.

Cacho is a singer song writer who has performed music throughout New England for nearly two decades.

The cost is $10 for adults and free for kids up to age 16. No dogs or alcohol allowed. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.

The concert will be held rain or shine, and indoor facilities available if weather is inclement.

ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR FUNDRAISER IN TAUNTON ON SATURDAY

TAUNTON - The Rose Croix Chapter No. 79 of the Order of the Eastern Star will hold a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Masonic Lodge, 66 Winthrop St.

This nonprofit group will be collecting new and used clothing, shoes, towels, blankets and curtains.

KIDS NIGHT COMING UP AT ABINGTON BANDSTAND

ABINGTON - Kids Night at the Bandstand will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Millennium Memorial Complex next to the Abington Public Library, 600 Gliniewicz Way.

There will be face painting, cotton candy, balloons and critters. The snack bar will be open and ice cream will be available.

In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Abington Senior Center, 441 Summer St.
