Alston Middle to put on fall production

The Summerville Journal-Scene - 10/17/2017

“Inclusion” is this year’s fall show created by the visual and performing arts.

The production is funded by the Department of Education’s DAP grant.

It is estimated that over a billion people worldwide have some sort of disability. Mahatma Ghandi said: “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.” These two statements together imply that we need to be more inclusive of people with disabilities.

This year’s production features the music of Stevie Wonder and Beethoven, as well as other music about respect and acceptance. The performance will also include a dramatic re-imagining of “A Christmas Carol”.

This free performance, open to the community, will be held Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alston Middle School gym. For more information, please call 843-873-3890.
