TAUNTON - Volunteer tutors are being sought by the Taunton Literacy Council to help adult students. Tutors work one-on-one with adults from the area who attend classes at the Taunton Adult Literacy Program. Volunteers help immigrant students learn English or assist students in obtaining their high school equivalency certification. Tutors are needed to teach reading, writing and math. No prior teaching experience or knowledge of a foreign language is necessary. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to meet for two hours weekly at the Taunton Public Library. Training and teaching materials are provided. Tutor training sessions start in early January. Please call Susan Wladis now at (508) 822-2828 for more information.
