Upcoming heart health group meetings

Hill Country Memorial announces the third quarter schedule for its Cardiac Support Group. The group is open to anyone interested in heart health, including those affected by heart issues like congestive heart failure, heart disease or heart attack.

The Cardiac Support Group will meet on Thursday, July 5, from noon to 1 p.m. in the HCM Learning Center. A light heart-healthy lunch will be served at noon.

The group will continue to meet on the first Thursday of each month, including Aug. 2 and Sept. 6, at the same time and location. A variety of topics related to the heart and vascular system are discussed each month.

"This group provides direct access to the heart health experts," said HCM director of cardiac rehabilitation Patsy Glasscock, R.N. "We are here to share our knowledge and to help you take real steps toward heart health no matter your age, gender or stage in life."

Dr. Kevin Gallagher, a cardiologist with Austin Heart in Fredericksburg, facilitates the group with Glasscock and HCM cardiac rehab team members.

The Learning Center is on the first floor of Hill Country Memorial Hospital (1020 S. State Hwy. 16). Parking is free, and a trolley service is available for anyone with mobility issues.
