BRIEF: Senior Services Division, Alzheimer's Association to sponsor fall session of arts program

Frederick News-Post - 8/11/2018

Aug. 11--The Frederick County Division of Senior Services and the Alzheimer's Association will sponsor the next session of Partner in the Arts -- a social engagement program designed to enhance the lives of people living with early-stage memory loss and their care partners, the county announced in a press release.

Classes will meet from 10 a.m. to noon every Friday, from Sept. 7 through Oct. 12, at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, 40 S. Carroll St., Frederick. Each session costs $10 per person.

The classes will be held in an open-studio format for people to work independently under the guidance of artist and instructor Jim Crockett. All mediums are welcome and no experience is needed.

The Division of Senior Services, formerly known as the Department of Aging, develops and administers programs and activities that support older adults and adults with disabilities in their efforts to remain healthy, active and independent members of the community.

For more information or to register for the class, call 301-600-6001 or email caregiversupport@FrederickCountyMD.gov.
