The Information Services group represents the many forms of information and assistance offered by A1AA. Services are offered at three locations in Humboldt County, and at the Del Norte Info Center in Del Norte County. Specialists are available to provide assessments, service referrals, help with completing forms, advocacy and follow-up as needed. Caregiver Support Services specializes in presenting service referrals that can help make the role of caregiver just a bit easier. Caregivers are those individuals who assist disabled people or older adults who need help with the everyday tasks of living. Caregivers are all kinds of people facing all types of problems such as: a husband who has suffered a stroke; a wife with Parkinson's disease; a mother-in-law with cancer; a grandfather with Alzheimer's disease; a son with traumatic brain injury from a car accident. Area 1 Agency on Aging and the Blue Lake Rancheria have partnered to bring information and referral services to Native American Elders and their caregivers in parts of Humboldt and Trinity Counties. Resource Specialists from Information and Assistance and Caregiver Services are available for outreach to a number of communities to bring resource information and consultation services.
