The Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) enforces California state laws that prohibit harassment and discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations and that provide for pregnancy leave and family and personal medical leave. It also accepts and investigates complaints alleging hate violence or threats of hate violence.

The county in general has an overwhelming amount if homeless/indigent people, and since the jails and other county agencies are overwhelmed, it seems that the people working at the various agencies are exasperated as well as overwhelmed, because the resources arw just not available, especially as regards to funding. Programs no longer exist due to lack of funding. It is truly sad.
