Mission Statement- The California Commission on Aging (CCoA) as defined by the Older Californian's Act, functions in the principal advocacy and advisory capacity to the governor State Legislature, and state and federal department and agencies to protect and support the rights of senior citizens to live with dignity in the environment they choose. California Commission on Aging sponsors the California Seniors Coalition. The California Commission on Aging (CCoA) is the principle advocate body for older persons in the State. Its objectives are to ensure that the interests of older Californians are represented by advising the Governor, the Legislature, the Department of Aging, and agencies at all levels of government regarding the problems and needs of older persons. Through its various communications, the Commission provides information to individuals and senior organizations, regarding matters of public policy affecting older persons. It also provides coordination and support to local and statewide senior groups relating to program, legislative, and policy and advocacy activities.
