Workers' Compensation Insurance is a program for persons injured on the job. Benefits may include medical care and partial payment of lost wages (generally designed to replace two-thirds of the lost wages, up to a maximum capped amount). The California Department of Industrial Relations' role in benefit delivery of workers compensation is to oversee the provision of benefits; to provide information and assistance to employees, employers, and others involved in the system; and to resolve disputes that may arise between employee and the employer or the workers compensation insurance company.
