The mission of Human Services Department is to provide support and to advance the life of deaf and hard of hearing individuals by empowering them with information, training, and opportunities. Advocates work with consumers, businesses and service providers to resolve issues or problems concerning communication barriers and other challenges in 7 categories: communication assistance, peer counseling, advocacy, independent living skills, employment assistance with Employment Development Department, information and referrals and community education and outreach.
