The Corona Senior Center is a free recreational facility for adults aged 50 years and older. Fitness, educational, recreational and other activities are offered daily.
The Corona Senior Center is a multi-purpose facility offering a wide variety of programs and activities and a place for senior citizens, age 50 and older, to participate in educational programs, receive human services, enjoy recreational activities, and socialize.
A variety of recreational activities are available at the Center including: dance lessons, games, movies and a full range of classes including art, quilting, ballroom dancing and line dancing, crocheting, topiary, computer skills, and bridge.
The Center offers numerous health and fitness programs. Fitness programs include women’s and men’s exercise classes, chair exercise, flexibility and balance class, and an exercise room.
The Corona Senior Center offers paralegal assistance, HICAP counseling, tax-preparation assistance, minor home repairs, and renter’s and homeowner’s assistance.
Educational and informative lectures are available for seniors to attend.
Throughout the year, the Center hosts several special events including a Senior Health Fair, Thanksgiving, Luncheon, and various holiday functions. In addition to events held at the Center, the annual Old Tyme Picnic is held each June at City Park.
Volunteers are sought by the Center to serve as program/activity assistants and to help with clerical work, pack food bags, assist in the Reading Library and various other positions. Professionals such as nurses and doctors are also needed as instructors or to provide services at the Center. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the Center.
