Located on the campus of Eisenhower Medical Center, the Center for Geropsychiatry is a voluntary inpatient program for seniors 65 and older who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorder or other behavioral problems. The patient participates in a daily program of scheduled activities and groups designed to enhance health, functional abilities, independence and quality of life. Using a multi-disciplinary approach that combines medical, psychiatric and geriatric expertise, the Center for Geropsychiatry's dedicated team delivers compassionate care focusing on the needs of the whole patient-physical, emotional and social-and the needs of their families. Referrals may be made by physicians, family, friends, mental health professionals, social service agencies or by self referral. Most major health plans are accepted including Medicare, private health insurance and private pay.
