Riverside County, Department of Public Health (DOPH) Injury Prevention Services has implemented a countywide child safety education program. Injury Prevention Services delivers and coordinates the program with agencies in the county that provide existing services to children ages 0-5. These organizations help identify and refer families to individual and group education workshops regarding home, water and child passenger safety. The goal is to prevent injuries and fatalities by providing families with resources, safety supplies and information that will empower them to create safe, nurturing environments for their children. In addition, Injury Prevention Services provides education and an appropriate child restraint system for participants in our Low Cost Car Seat program, those that violate the law in our Violators program and families who have children with special needs.
