DPSS Adult Services provides social service programs that help Riverside County's elderly and disabled citizens to live safely while maintaining as much independence as possible. The rights to dignity, self-determination and to live in the least restrictive environment are the underlying values of these programs. Riverside County Social Services Workers work with their clients to identify service needs to develop a service plan to meet those needs. With the approval of the client, family members and significant others are involved when appropriate. The service plan often requires coordination of services from a wide variety of agencies including Law Enforcement, Public Guardian, Mental Health, Office on Aging and volunteer and community based organizations. Adult Services also coordinates countywide multidisciplinary teams which allows for the implementation of complex, multi-agency service plans.
