The Assistance Programs consist of Food Stamps, General Relief, and Medi-Cal. Food Stamps provide aid in the form of coupons for limited grocery items. The Food Stamp Program is designed to promote the general welfare and to safeguard the health and well-being of the nation's population by raising the levels of nutrition among low-income households. Eligibility for this program is income-based. General Relief (GR) is a small, County-funded, vouchers-only program and is generally a source for needy individuals who may not qualify under the primary aid programs. The County provides for limited funding directly to the housing provider. The program also provides for a modest food supplement. Medi-Cal is health insurance for California residents with limited income and resources. Medi-Cal is health care insurance for children, pregnant women, families, the elderly, blind and disabled. Medi-Cal can pay for the expenses of pre-natal care, dental care, physical therapy, pharmacy services, vision care, nursing home care, emergency medical transportation and other medical expenses.

This particular agency is terrible. The people who answer the phone 9512453100 are very nice and try VERY hard to assure people that Ms/Mrs/Mr SO AND SO is this, that or the other thing to get things done...however, Ms SO and SO is out sick, busy, doesn't answer her phone and my daughter and grandson have to wait when she assured her that this was definitely an expedited necessity.....over a week wait. unbelievable.

I was told that there could be help with doing so by mail and over the phone but when I finally reached someone in the office I was told that this is not true and I would need to come in. I came in before the end of August and was there in time to get re-certified before the end of the month when, after that time I would need to reapply but this was not the case. I had called my case-worker 7 to 9 times documenting each call over a three week period and never received a call back, this the office looked up while I was there and found my statements to be true. I sat with two young ladies not my case worker on Aug 31, 2015 and they where kind enough to do a large part of my case-workers job and put all my re-certifi
