Citrus County Chronicle - 6/27/2018

The 14th annual Citrus County Veterans Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 8, at the Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club Course for the benefit of the Citrus County Veterans Foundation, Inc., featuring, by popular demand, Buddy Shelton - "Golf's Greatest Entertainer."

An United States Air Force Academy graduate and Air Force veteran, Buddy qualified for Class A membership in the Professional Golfers Association and the PGA Tour in 1965, competing in the circuit until 1984. Buddy will conduct a demonstration of his trick shots prior to the tournament's 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, play one hole with each tournament foursome and offer remarks during the luncheon as the presenter for the tournament's prizes. His knowledge, skills and humor are an exciting and colorful addition that will make the tournament a memorable event.

Check-in for the four-person scramble will be at 7:30 a.m. at the Tiki Bar with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Individuals and groups short of four persons will be combined to make a team. You do not need to be a veteran to participate.
