Five more residents die from COVID-19 at Cumberland County nursing home: officials

Patriot-News - 11/25/2020

Five residents at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with COVID-19 have died in the last four days, according to county officials.

Cumberland County spokeswoman Samantha Krepps reported that the Middlesex Township facility now has 52 residents and 20 employees that have tested positive for the coronavirus since Nov. 5.

Since February, 10 residents have died from COVID-19, Krepps said. 54 residents and 32 staff members have tested positive.

The facility has been under consideration for sale in recent months, and on Monday night the county commissioners discussed the matter at length. While the commissioners said yes, commenters throughout the evening were asking them to wait until after the pandemic.
