Chehalis Offers Utility Rate Discounts for Low Income and Disabled Customers; Applications Close June 30

Jun. 10—Chehalis is offering a discount on utility rates to qualified low income and disabled customers who are on the Chehalis water system. For those seeking to qualify as seniors, applicants must be at least 62 years old on the date of application and provide proof their gross household income is within the threshold required. For people with disabilities, applicants must be recognized as disabled by the Social Security office and have an annual gross household income within the required threshold.

All applicants must provide documentation attesting they meet the program's requirements. The income thresholds are $44,200 for a single-person household, $50,500 for a two-person household and $56,800 for a three-person household.

Program participants must fill out a new application each year.

Applications must be turned in by June 30 to be eligible for the period beginning July 1 and ending June 30, 2023.
