The Refuge in Broomfield virtually streaming mental health documentary

Daily Camera - 1/21/2021

Jan. 20—The Refuge is gearing up to host a film event Sunday featuring a documentary exploring mental health.

The documentary, "ANGST: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety," is the first of a trilogy on mental health from IndieFlix. The streaming will be followed by a Q&A with Trauma Therapist Nikki Kennedy, according to The Refuge's Facebook.

"The pandemic, isolation, natural disasters, election and social justice of issues have made the world feel like an unsafe place for both teens and adults alike," a news release from IndieFlix said. "'ANGST' sparks and pens up a global conversation and valiantly works to break the stigma surrounding mental health. The film inspires, informs and equips all of us to effectively manage stress and anxiety, with brain hacks, tricks and tips to route our thinking back to the frontal lobe."

The virtual film event will be held over Zoom Sunday at 2 p.m. Those who wish to attend must fill out a form to receive the link to join, which can be found at
