The El Companero Therapeutic Bareback Rider is a bareback pad designed for use by individuals with disabilities in therapeutic riding programs. These soft pads enhance communication between the rider and the horse, provide the rider with the natural feel of the motions of the horse, and provide a firm grip. Handmade from top suede leather, these pads vary in shape and contour and drape over the horse's back and sides to the rider's calf. A pocket with Velcro closure on the underside holds a removable one-inch piece of foam for additional comfort. The pad is available with an English-style belly girth system constructed of strong nylon webbing and stainless steel D rings. Additional D rings are attached for the application of stirrups (stirrups and leathers not included). At the top of the pad are two saddle strings secured by leather and chrome-plated conchos. D rings are attached to the rear of the pad for attaching toy bags or therapeutic items. A logo on the front center of the pad provides a visual cue for proper centering and positioning of the pad. The pad may be machine washed in cold water on the delicate cycle. It should then be allowed to air dry. COLOR: English toast, turquoise, or black.
