Reader Rabbit's Ready for Letters is an academic tutorial program designed to develop reading readiness for children with developmental or physical disabilities. Pre-readers take an adventure to Grandma and Grandpa Rabbit's house to find a home full of letters to find, colors and shapes to match, and sounds to make children laugh. There are six animated activities that combine reading readiness instruction with imaginative play. Students develop visual discrimination, build letter recognition, learn simple word meanings, and enrich creativity and imagination. Students will be able to exercise the auditory, visual and thinking skills known to stimulate literacy. It features digitized speech for independent play and requires no reading. This program is available on diskette and is designed to be TouchWindow accessible (see separate entry). COMPATIBILITY: Macintosh or IBM. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Macintosh: 2 MB (3 MB for System 7.0 or higher); 256 color monitor; hard disk; mouse. Optional: TouchWindow. IBM/compatibles: DOS 2.0 or higher; 640K; color monitor and graphics card; one 5.25 or 3.5 inch disk drive (both disks included); supports Sound Blaster and compatible sound cards.
