The Special Rider, model 1982, is a riding toy designed to provide support for positioning and smoother riding mobility for children with lower extremity and poor trunk control. The child controls the Special Rider by swinging the handle bars from side to side. It allows the physically limited child to become self propelled and engage in fun upper extremity and trunk exercise. By providing normal play activity, it helps to promote visual perceptual skills, enhance motor planning, and provide vestibular stimulation. The Special Rider is eauipped with an adjustable lumbar support strap for stability and positioning; upturned handlebars to encourage trunk extension and shoulder stability; adjustable bumpers on padded handlebars to protect fingers; adjustable foot plate with heel cutouts; hook and loop straps for easy positioning on the foot plate or for securing the ankles, shins, knees or thighs; padded non-slip seat; padded back support to aid trunk stability; and adjustable seat belt for positioning and stability. The rider is durable and its wheels will not mark the floor. CAPACITY: Working load is 130 pounds. GUARANTEE: One full year from shipping date.
