--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Alteration of the front of a pair of trousers to allow a front panel to be fastened with velcro for persons who have difficulty manipulating zippers or buttons. Instructions for altering a pair of trousers, calling for opening the trousers at the pocket lines, cutting off the pocket linings, and sewing pieces of knit material in the front (to the underside of pocket - the part made of the same fabric as the trousers) and as a waistband to fit under the original one, which is part of the flap.
