The SaeboMAS (Mobile Arm Support) is an arm exerciser designed for use by individuals with neurological or orthopedic conditions that exhibit proximal weakness of the upper extremity. This zero gravity arm exerciser facilitates and challenges the weakened shoulder and elbow during functional tasks and exercise drills, with the goal of maximizing function while increasing proximal strength. It allows the user to perform exercises with minimal compensation, and it supports self-care tasks such as eating or drinking. The exerciser features an adjustable spring based parallelogram brace offering various levels of assistance and incorporating all planes of movement so multi-directional activities can be achieved. The SaeboMAS clamps onto a tabletop, and it is height-adjustable, lightweight and portable. Its malleable forearm supports have removable liners for infection control. An elbow support attachment are also included. A measureable graded Tension scale enables a therapist to tracking and document the user's progress.
