The ADA EZ is a powered door operator designed for use doors at institutions and other high traffic areas that are manual opened and closes but occasionally require automatic operation. Upon installation, the unit determines the door's size and weight and automatically tune its controller to operate within ANSI 156.19 and 117.1 standards for door openers and closers. The ADA EZ also has adjustable speed, hold-open time, and opening/closing force. On-board diagnostics continually maintain control of door speed in wind or abusive environmental conditions. When operated manually, a clutch mechanism disengages the motor gearbox assembly upon opening, then re-engages during the closing cycle to control the spring force for even and smooth operation throughout the entire opening and closing cycle. The unit closes the door without any external power supplied. Upon meeting an obstruction during the opening cycle, the door remains under power for 2 seconds and then closes under force of the spring. If the door meets an obstruction while closing, the door maintains a closing force of 8 pounds or less. The unit can operate doors up to 48 inches wide, weighing up to 250 pounds. It comes with two wireless, jamb mounted, stainless steel push button transmitters and required signage. The push button transmitters have circuit boards coated to resist moisture and humidity, making the electronics resistant to rain, humidity and other adverse weather conditions. The ADA EZ has an integral heavy duty cast aluminum shock absorbing arm, which is in full tension when fully extended. The arm utilizes a triangular hardened steel output shaft to connect with a two piece coupling tapered for slip resistance. Other features include architecturally finished dress covers and adhesive mounting templates for installation. POWER: When the door is opened manually, the regenerative drive system charges an onboard battery pack. When used 25 percent or less in the automatic mode, the unit self-generates all the power it needs to keep its replaceable, onboard, battery pack charged for up to 12 years. DIMENSIONS: Push button transmitters are 1.75x 4.75 inches. COLOR: Dress covers are black, dark bronze, or aluminum; frame, arms, and mounting brackets are powder coated black. WARRANTY: Mechanical, electrical, and battery components are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of invoice
