The H-46 ScanOver (Scanning VoiceOver Switch Interface) is a computer switch control interface designed to enable individuals with severe physical, motor control, neurological or upper extremity disabilities or spinal cord injury to control an Apple iPad with a switch. This unit has a speaker and headphone jack, a front panel showing the status of the Bluetooth module inside, and a rear panel for the scanning options. The user turns VoiceOver on with triple click and starts scanning with either Auto-Scan or Step-Scan switch input. When VoiceOver gets to a desired VoiceOver compatible app, the user clicks on the switch again and opens that app. Scanning stops after a selection. ScanOver also works with the iOS keyboard and allows the user to use it as the simpler switch interface with switch-friendly apps. Other features include a spoken menu with further choices and settings, a way into the menu based upon how long the user holds the switch (adjustable from 0.5 to 2 seconds), control over QuickNav, jump (skipping over a specified number of steps), an ability to record menus, and an ability for the user to change any setting. ScanOver connects to the iPad wirelessly using Bluetooth. COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPad. POWER: Rechargeable battery. Battery life is about 1-2 days of use.
