Digivoice is a driving control system designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This system allows voice operation of up to 16 vehicle controls such as shifter functions, turn signals, horn, headlight dimmer, and wipers. The driver touches a single telco-style ACT switch (not included) to activate the system. When the switch is depressed, the system says "READY" and the driver speaks the name of the desired function into the supplied microphone. The function is then activated within 1.5 seconds. The system requires a short period of training to learn to recognize the driver's voice. It can operate within the loud environment of a motor vehicle while minimizing false activation. A "shift verification" feature prevents unintentional shifting into Park or Reverse, and an automatic "radio defeat" function mutes stereo sound during system activation to allow safe and reliable communications between the driver and the system. This product can operate in conjunction with other driving control systems from the same manufacturer, including Digipad-II Gold Series, Smart Shift, and the Econo Series console and/or two-function control modules (see separate entries).
