The PaceSaver Scout is a rigid heavy-duty powered wheelchair designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (HxLxW): 39 to 41 x 39 x 25 inches. The overall height is 31 to 33 inches with the seat back folded down. The turning radius is 21.5 inches. The ground clearance is 3 inches. The chair disassembles for transport. The Scout includes front anti-tippers and features independent coil spring suspension. The seat frame is black and the base is available in ocean blue, candy apple red, or midnight black. MWD: Mid-wheel drive. CONTROLS: Integrated programmable Shark 75 amp joystick controller. Controller joystick options and a 5-inch retractable controller mount are available. SEAT (LxW): The standard seat is a Com-For-Back swivel seat that is 18 x 18 inches. The back height is 20 inches. The floor-to-seat height is 23 to 25.5 inches; the seat-to-footplate height is 15 to 18 inches. Optional seats include the 50-degree reclining Admirals Seat; rehab (cane) seat; and a 24-inch wide seat. Other seating options include an adjustable headrest; a 5-inch power seat lift; curved backs; and specialized seating components with the rehab (cane) seat. Tilt and recline is available. UPHOLSTERY: Velvet upholstery in black or gray or vinyl upholstery in charcoal, gray or gray is available. ARMRESTS: Adjustable, detachable and flip-away padded armrests. BRAKES: Regenerative, dynamic and disc parking brakes are available. CASTERS: 8-inch rear caster wheels with solid tires. Each caster rotates on an articulating arm. WHEELS: 14-inch middle drive wheels with pneumatic tires; flat- free tires are optional. 5-inch front anti-tip wheels with solid tires are standard. FOOTRESTS: Front one-piece footplate. The footplate height from the floor is adjustable from 4 to 5 inches. A longer footplate, elevating legrests, and swing-away, detachable footrests are optional. OPTIONS: Amputee adapter; front bag; saddle bag; folding basket; cane holder; cup holder; flag; and oxygen tank holder. POWER: Uses two Group 22 sealed batteries (not included). A carry-on charger is standard. SPEEDS: 5 miles per hour for a range of up to 25 miles per charge. Maximum incline on hard surfaces is 9 degrees; on rough and uneven surfaces is 5 degrees. CAPACITY: 300 pounds. WEIGHT: The heaviest single component is 65 pounds. The lightest component is 13.5 pounds. WARRANTY: Lifetime limited warranty on the frame; 3-year limited warranty on electronics; 2-year limited warranty on motor and gearbox assemblies.
