Touch the Universe: A NASA Braille Book of Astronomy, by Noreen Grice, is a braille science book designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The book includes 14 pages of photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, with a combination of Braille and large-print captions on facing pages. The book is embossed with shapes that represent various astronomical objects such as stars, gas clouds, and jets of matter streaming into space. Starting at Earth, it proceeds through the solar system and ends with the most distant image taken by Hubble, a telescopic image displaying the infinite reaches of our universe of galaxies. The book is available in paperback and in a downloadable pdf version.
