The Ages & Stages Questionnaires: Social-Emotional (ASQ:SE) is a developmental assessment system designed for use in evaluating children at risk for emotional disabilities or behavioral problems. This child monitoring system is focused exclusively on children’s social and emotional behavior. Parents complete the illustrated questionnaires, which screen seven key behavioral areas: self-regulation, compliance, communication, adaptive functioning, autonomy, affect, and interaction with people. Professionals convert parents’ responses of "most of the time," "sometimes," and "rarely or never" to scoring sheets, enabling them to recognize young children at risk for social or emotional difficulties. The complete system includes eight photocopiable, color-coded questionnaires for use at 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 48, and 60 months of age; eight photocopiable, color-coded, age-appropriate scoring sheets (one for each questionnaire); a CD-ROM with all eight questionnaires and scoring sheets in printable PDF format; an ASQ:SE User’s Guide; and one storage box. OPTIONS: online management system; online parent completion system; training DVD; and questionnaires in English or Spanish.
