The Auggie, model H-58, is a direct selection or scanning communicator designed for use by individuals with communication or speech disabilities. This unit consists of an Ultra Mini PC (UMPC) running Windows 7, with two USB ports and a finger-operable true touchscreen. The unit comes with PTP-PC communication software, a wireless modem, a dock adapter with three USB ports, a tablet stand, a tablet speaker, and carry case (black is standard; red, blue or pink is also available). The unit is operated by direct touch. With an optional switch interface it can be operated by trackball, joystick, a switch or switches, or head tracking. OPTIONS: Mayer-Johnson Speaking Dynamically Pro with BoardMaker; accessory pack with compact keyboard with built-in trackpad, external USB DVD/CD player, and carry case for everything; SAM-Cordless switch interface; SwitchHopper switch interface; Mini-Click USB switch; Switch Click USB switch; CrossScanner; SlantBoard; MagicArm. POWER: Uses power supply/charger or echargeable battery; the external speaker/case uses 3 double-A batteries. DIMENSIONS (HxW): 6.5 x 12 inches. The touchscreen is 3.5 x 6 inches. The optional compact keyboard is 6.5 x 13 inches. The optional Magic Arm has 22-inch reach. WEIGHT: Batteries weigh 2 pounds.
