---- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype of a simple, fun, and sporty aesthetic electric vehicle for individuals with lower extremity or mobility disabilities, people with spinal cord injury and others who use a wheelchair. After spending an extended period of time in a wheelchair to better understand the challenges of wheelchair users and individuals with disabilities, designer Alexandre Pain, proposed that it was the stigma associated with the wheelchair that appeared to be one of the greatest challenges. The Tandem Electric Wheelchair provides a simple, fun, sporty electric vehicle that can provide additional seating for one person behind the user. TITLE: Designing for Social Stigma.
