---- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To create a prototype of a device that allows individuals with fine motor skill or upper extremity disabilities to play the guitar using a series of foot pedals. Robo-tar is a device that attaches to the neck of a standard guitar and actuates chords electronically using a series of pedals. The Robo-tar allows individuals to play the guitar with only one hand (strumming) and the use of one foot to control the appropriate chords. It is intended to reduce the learning curve associated with learning to play the guitar for individuals who may have limited use of their hands due to illness, conditions related stroke or arthritis and injuries to the hand, wrist, arm, or shoulder. These individuals might otherwise find it difficult or impossible to play a standard guitar. AUTHOR: Kevin Krumwiede. TITLE: Robo-tar.
