The Swimhorse

The Swimhorse is a support frame that allows people with physical disabilities, mobility disabilities, and the elderly to swim in place horizontally without the fear of sinking below water level. This device makes it possible for users to practice backstroke and freestyle swimming postures while moving at a leisurely, relaxed pace.

The Swimhorse has a stable base that rests on the floor of the pool, and upper pad levels that can be adjusted in height and length to accommodate the user’s height and water depth (from 30 to 42 inches). It has an adjustable headrest to provide users with additional support for backstrokes, water yoga stretches, or floating/relaxing, as well as a pommel to help secure the user’s positioning and prevent lateral slippage or falling off.

Whether it’s in a small, private backyard aboveground pool or a large, public in-ground aquatic facility, the Swimhorse will work in any pool or body of water that has a solid floor or an even, sandy bottom. The Swimhorse, made of durable, non-corrosive PVC tubing, has foam cushions, stainless steel inserts for ballast, and quick-release pins with lanyards to adjust for height.
