Ode

Ode is a sensory stimulating mealtime reminder designed specifically for people living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s. It releases aromatic cues that smell authentically of food three times a day to promote the individual’s appetite and remind him or her to eat. Ode can hold three fragrance cartridges at a time - one for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and be programmed to release the selected fragrance at a designated time. When it comes on, Ode will release the fragrance on and off on a cycle for two hours. This is to ensure that the individual does not get use to the smell during that 2-hour period and thereby forget to eat. Specially developed for Ode by British perfumers and flavorists, Ode offers a wide array of fragrances, ranging from fresh orange juice to braised Beef Casserole and cherry tart. Ode is suitable for use in residential homes as well as in larger facilities, such as nursing homes. Customers can either purchase the Starter Pack, which includes an Ode device and a set of fragrances, or the Annual Subscription, which includes an Ode device and a year’s worth of fragrance subscriptions.
