The Trekker Breeze+ is a handheld talking GPS designed for individuals who are blind or have low vision. It provides users with specific walking directions as they travel, and a number of other key features: The “Where Am I” button informs the user of his or her current cardinal direction, next intersection, nearest address, and current street. The “What’s Around” feature describes the public services and businesses that are nearby as well as surrounding landmarks and points of interests. And the “Open Area” mode uses landmarked locations to help the user get from point A to point B in wide open spaces (e.g., campus or park). The Breeze+ also features prominent tactile buttons, allowing users to operate all device functions on this navigational aid with just one hand.
