Leapfrog Assistive Walker is a prototype designed for children ages 1.5 to 5 years of age with cerebral palsy. The Leapfrog Assistive Walker was created by the industrial designer Donn Koh. An automatic and intuitive gas spring transformation system has been fitted into this machine. When the child tries to sit down, weight is exerted turning the seat into the chair mode. When they stand up, the weight is lifted off the gas spring and the device goes into the walker mode. Using the automatic lift assistance, the child can place themselves in different positions. The child can walk, stand still, or sit down with this device, so there is no need to repeatedly move the child from the walker to the seat. The elevation of the seating surface is monitored steadily by the gas spring when the child tries to stand up. It provides the right amount of aid during the critical mid point of standing. Also, the force is reduced gradually as the child acquires strength.
