Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Generation)

The Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Generation) is a self-programming thermostat that can be controlled with the Nest app (please see separate entry). The Nest Learning Thermostat studies the user’s preferences (e.g., when he or she likes to turn the temperature up or down) and uses its 10 temperature sensors to track the temperature in the house and learn how it works (e.g., how long it takes for the house to warm up, how drafty it is). It also tracks the weather and automatically adjusts the temperature accordingly to help the user stay comfortable. When the user enters the room, the Nest Learning Thermostat will light up and display the temperature, weather, or time on its 24-bit color LCD screen. And when its activity sensors detect that the user has left the house, the Nest Learning Thermostat will turn itself down to help save energy. Users can adjust the temperature manually by turning the ring on the Nest Learning Thermostat or change it remotely using the Nest app (requires Wi-Fi connection and internet access). Through the app, the user will also be able to receive safety alerts and reminders to change the filter. The Nest Learning Thermostat works with 95% of 24V heating and cooling systems, including gas, electric, forced air, heat pump, radiant, oil, hot water, solar, and geothermal.
