Magnetic Letters on the Garage Door is a do it yourself educational activity designed for children learning to read and write to encourage movement and learning in letter identification and spelling. This activity is done using magnetic letters and a garage door.

Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather materials.

  • sensory bin

Step Two: Make piles, magnetizing the letters to the garage door, of each of the letters in a beginner's word, such as "yes," "no," or "stop".

Step Three: Have the child fish through the sensory bin filled with magnetic letters for each of the letters in the word and have them add it to the appropriate pile.

Step Four: After the child has done this, they say the word.
