Mood Bands help children with autism spectrum disorder and cognitive disabilities communicate their moods. These silicon wrist bands are colored green on the outside and amber on the inside, similar to traffic lights. The bands help children to understand if they are doing well by showing them the green side, or amber side to help them know they need to ‘wait’ or ‘think’ about what they are doing. Children can wear the Mood Bands to indicate their feelings by flipping the band over to – green – I’m feeling OK and amber – I’m not feeling OK.
