The Pressure Sores Monitor is a pressure sensing mat designed for wheelchair users to fit under the seat of a wheelchair. It is designed for people in wheelchairs who face the problem of "pressure sores" designed to notify them when they have been sitting in the same position for too long. Each prong of the 3D printed X sits atop a pressure sensor and runs through an Arduino. It connects to an app via Bluetooth, which shows the pressure in darkening shades of red, indicating both where pressure points may occur, but also encouraging the user to move when one sector has seen pressure for too long. Future iterations could include more sensors for more detailed impressions.

Pressure sores, which occur when someone is sitting in the same position for too long, are a problem for people in wheelchairs and this device works to solve that problem.
