The Foot Funnel

The Foot Funnel is designed for hands-free shoe donning as an alternative to a long handled shoe horn. It is designed to help users with a limited range of motion, trouble bending over, and upper extremity or grasping difficulties, slide easily into their shoes. The concept behind the Foot Funnel is that it is designed to aid users with limited lumbar rotation and to aid those who lack the strength and dexterity to handle a traditional shoe horn, or long handled shoe horn.  The Foot Funnel is a somewhat flexible plastic, heel shaped mold made to fit directly over the heel of a shoe. Unlike a shoe horn, it is not simply curved to guide the foot, the Foot Funnel mold mimics the shape of a person’s heel and the shape of a shoe heel and is designed to assist those who may not be able to move enough to use a traditional shoe horn design. The user lowers and raises the Foot Funnel using a string and loop handle which allows the user to attach the Foot Funnel over the heel portion of their shoe and then lower the Foot Funnel and shoe to slip their foot in. They can easily slip the pliable plastic Foot Funnel off and use the string to then bring the Foot Funnel back up. The string can be alternated sides of the plastic Foot Funnel attachment so it can be used easily by left and right-handed users.
