The Care Trak Wrist Transmitter is a wireless signal transmitter designed for use by caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's Disease or cognitive, neurological, or mobility disabilities in a clinical setting. This portable device is worn on the wrist or ankle. The transmitter, which is water resistant, puts out a silent constantly pulsating radio signal. The unit consists of three components - the transmitter, a plastic transmitter case, and a band that attaches to the case. Three types of bands are available: vinyl and woven nylon for single use and a heavy duty fabric band for multiple use. The Care Trak Wrist Transmitter can be used when a caregiver, law enforcement officer or emergency rescue personnel have the Care Trak Mobile Locator (see separate entry). Care Trak registers the frequency number of the transmitter with the appropriate agency. When an individual becomes lost, police or medical personnel can locate him or her. It has a range of up to 1 mile. In addition to the wrist transmitter, Care Trak provides a transmitter tester and emergency phone number stickers. A new battery and tamper-resistant band are also sent to the user of the transmitter on a monthly basis. POWER: Uses batteries. WEIGHT: Transmitter weighs 1 ounce.
