The Wheaton Hip Abduction Orthosis is a hip abduction orthosis designed for use with children with lower extremity disabilities. Available in adjustable and non-adjustable styles, this splint features one-piece molded construction that is flexible and molds to the body. Lined with non-absorbent closed cell foam, the unit has touch closure straps and a rigid, lightweight polypropylene spreader bar that keeps hips abducted at 60 degrees. The unit keeps the hips flexed at 90 degrees. OPTIONS: Adjustable joint for the spreader bar to allow abduction from 40 to 80 degrees. SIZES: Extra small (fits children up to 3 months old or weighing 6 to 12 pounds), small (fits children 4 to 6 months old or weighing 13 to 16 pounds), medium (fits children 7 to 12 months old or weighing 17 to 21 pounds), large (fits children 13 to 18 months or weighing 22 to 30 pounds), and extra large (fits children 19 months and older or weighing more than 30 pounds).
