Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center to offer COVID-19 vaccines for veterans

Apr. 12—The Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Medical Center will host a targeted COVID-19 vaccine clinic for those have that served in the armed forces, along with their spouses and caretakers, on Wednesday.

The Save Lives Act COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic is scheduled to run at the VA Medical Center, located at 1111 East End Boulevard in Wilkes-Barre, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 14.

Pre-registration for the even is preferred, and patients are encouraged to call 570-830-7076 between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. from Monday to Friday. Walk-in appointments will also be available.

Vaccines will be available for any and all veterans who have served in the United States military, along with spouses of veterans, including widows or widowers of veterans. Individuals who characterize their relationship as "spousal" can receive the vaccine, a clinic release specified.

Caregivers of veterans, including family members or friends who provide care or assistance to veterans, may also register for an appointment.
